Get Your Hands Dirty (in the Best Way!) with Rachel the Potter at Stargaze

Updated: Jul 21, 2025

There’s something magical about shaping clay with your own hands—watching something soft and formless transform into a beautiful, meaningful creation. This year at Stargaze Festival, we’re thrilled to welcome Rachel of Two Muddy Hands, a queer artist and potter from the wild beauty of New Hampshire, who is bringing her vibrant, soul-crafted ceramics to share with our community.

Nine colorful glazed pottery pieces in a grid. Vases, bowls, and mugs feature vibrant patterns, speckles, and flares. Some have flowers.

Rachel’s journey with clay began in high school and has since evolved into a deeply personal form of artistic expression. Working from her cozy home studio, she creates bold, colorful pieces that reflect her identity, love of texture, and fierce commitment to authenticity. “Every piece I make is a celebration,” she says—and trust us, her work radiates that joyful truth.

At Stargaze, Rachel is offering more than just a chance to shop her gorgeous handmade pottery—she’s inviting you to be part of the process.

✨ Pottery Workshop: Make Your Own Custom Keepsake ✨

Rainbow star with "BE YOU" text held in a hand; two colorful circular pins with abstract designs in another hand. Warm lighting.

When: Saturday

Cost: $20 (includes materials, glazing, kiln firing, and shipping to your door!)

No experience needed—just come ready to play!

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll create a custom ceramic magnet or ornament, shaped like a star—because of course! You’ll get to personalize your piece with any phrase, name, or message that speaks to your heart.

The process is easy and fun:

  • First, you’ll mold and decorate your clay star

  • Let it dry for 30–60 minutes in the sun

  • Come back to glaze your piece with vibrant colors

  • Rachel will take your creation back to New Hampshire, fire it in her kiln, and mail it to you as a magical reminder of your Stargaze experience

Whether you’re crafting a souvenir for yourself or a gift for someone you love, this is a perfect way to root your memories in something tangible, playful, and personal.

🎨 Meet the Artist: Rachel of Two Muddy Hands

Rachel isn’t just a wildly talented potter—she’s also a queer creative who believes in the power of handmade art to spark joy, connection, and community. Her glaze combinations are bold, her pieces are full of life, and her energy is as grounding as it is inspiring.

You'll find her under her 10x10 pottery tent all weekend, offering her work for show and sale. Come say hi, admire her stunning pieces, and maybe take home something that calls to you.

Pottery + Pride + Play = Stargaze Magic

This workshop is just one of the many ways you can tap into your creativity and self-expression at Stargaze Festival 2025—a weekend filled with art, music, community, and liberation under the stars.

And yes, chairs will be provided, so you can comfortably create without having to sit on the grass (unless you want to, of course 🌿).

We can’t wait to welcome Rachel—and you—into this colorful constellation of queer brilliance.
